It is announced that the Cable Company have agreed to the terms demanded by the New Zealand Government, provided that the subsidy is extended for a period of six years and a quarter, instead of five as offered. THE NEW SOUTH WALES MINISTRY, Sydney, February 18. In the Legislative Assembly to-day, the Premier, Sir John Robertson, announced that His Excellency, Lord Carrington, had declined to grant a dissolution of Parliament, and Ministers had decided to place their resignations in the . hands of the Governor forthwith. A Supply Bill for one million and twenty thousand pounds was passed through all stages, after which the Assembly adjourned. THE VICTORIAN NEW MINISTRY* Melbourne, February 18. Messrs. Walker, Munro, Lorimer, and Cuthbert have joined the new Victorian Ministry, and the allotment of their respective portfolios takes place to-day. It is considered probable that Messrs. Harper, Quick, and Davis will also be included in the Ministry. The dissolution of Parliament will take place to-morrow, and the general election have been fixed for the sth of March. Mr. Gillies announces that he will issue his electoral manifesto tomorrow. A later telegram says:—Mr. Gillies has succeeded in forming a Ministry. The following is the list of the new Ministry, with the portfolios allotted to them, which have been submitted to His Excellency the Governor: Mr. Gillies, Premier, Colonial Treasurer, and Commissioner of Roads and Railways; Mr. Deakin, Colonial Secretary Mr. Wrixon, AttorneyGeneral ; Mr. Dow, Minister of Lands and Agriculture and Minister of Mines; Mr, Pearson, Minister of Public Instruction ; Mr, Nimmo, Commissioner of Public Works Mr. Walker, Commissioner of Trade and Customs; Mr. Cuthbert, Minister of Justice ; Mr. Lorimer, Minister of Defence and Mr. Da vies, portfolio without office. It is believed that Mr. Harper will be appointed to the vacant portfolio of Postmaster-General.
