We, the undersigned Ratepayers of the various Wards of the City of Auckland, respectfully request that you will allow yourselves to be nominated as Licensing Commissioners for the ensuing year. It is our opinion that one Licensing Committoe for the whole of these districts will give more satisfaction in administering the Licensing Aot, and be more conducive to the equable application of it, than the sjstem hitherto followed of electing Fifteen Commissioners to carry out its provisions. We have confidence in you as men of established reputation and of temperate views, and being unpledged either to suppress tho liquor traffic or to work in the Interests of tho publicans, you will, if elected, discharge the duties of Licensing Commissioners with credit to yourselves and satisfaction to tho com munlty.
