At the Police Court yesterday the charge sheet was a comparatively light one. A man was lined for inebriety. Kate Power, who was still confined in the Hospital, had a charge of drunkenness further adjourned to Saturday. Emma Robinson, Moore-street, was remanded to Tuesday, February 9, for medical treatment, as she was suffering from delirium tremens. Samuel Osborne Garlick was brought up on remand from January 27, on the charge of feloniously receiving an order on the Mercury Bay Timber Company, for £72 15s 3d, and a cheque for £20, the property of the Northern Steamship Company, from Duncan Wright, late steward of the s.s. Argyle, well knowing the same to be stolen, on December 28. On the application of Sergeant Pratt tho case case was remanded to Thursday (to-day). Mr. J. P. King was the presiding Justice.
