The local superintendent of the Peninsular and Oriental Company has received a telegram from the London Office stating that the service via Alexandria, which was interrupted on account of the stringency of the quarantine regulations, has been resumed. SERIOUS PIRE IN MELBOURNE. Melbourne, November 8. A serious fire broke out yesterday on the premises of Mr. D. Munro and Co., contractors, Queen-street, -vthich resulted, before the flames were extinguished, in damage to the extent of several thousand pounds. NEW SOUTH WALES ELECTIONB. Sydney, November 7. Mr.Slattery, Minister of Justice, and Mr. Lyne, Secretary of Public Works, have been re-elected for their respective constituencies unopposed. ADELAIDE MARKETS. Adelaide, November 7.
