PONSONBY "AT HOME."
»■ FANCY DRESS BALL. The "At Homo" of the Ponsonby Club took place last evening at the Public Hall, and it took the form of a fancy dress ball. Tho carrying out of the arrangements was entrusted to a committee of members. The committee consisted of Messrs. G. Cruickshank, A. Dovore, D. F. Evans, G. S. Jakins, T. T. Masetield, Chas. Maclndoe, 1. H. Upton, and Dr. Dawson and Dr. Lewis. There was a large attendance, and a very fair representation of characters. Most of the ladies had chosen with taste, but the dress of the Amazou adopted by Miss Evans was, we think, the most correctly worked out in detail. Many of the other dresses were picturesque enough. Mr. Maseficld officiated as master of ceremonies, aud an efficient band contributed the requisite music. Dancing was kept up until the early hours of the morning, and all present horoughly enjoyed themselves. The characters represented were as follow :— Ladies— Mis* O. The hall was neatly decorated with flags and banners, and the entertainment was made most agreeable for all those present.
