Darwin.Three shifts are now employed on the drive in the lode at No. 3 level, and the manager has been instructed to push on with the atopes in the blook between the winze and the Cambria boundary. He is preparing for another crushing. ; ; Cambria.—The mine manager reports, August 24 : We find this morn ng that we cannot deviate the winze to the westward, as the break or heave is showing on that side. This appears to be the same heave that was carried down in the winze from No. 2 to No. 3 level. It is running nearly in the same direction that the winze is being stink. The 301bs. of specimens which was wired toyou this morning were obtained on No. 3 level, about ten feet from the top of the winze on the western side of the break. Should the gold run out in the winze, this, wo think, would be th« best place to pat down another winze, but the reef in the bottom of the present winze still looks well. In future we will name the body of the quartz that is striking into the hanging wall on the western side of the winze at Ne. 3 level the '■ cross lode."
