MASS MEETING IN MADRID. [reuter's telegrams.] Madrid, August 24. An immense concourse of people assembled in this city to-day, upward! of 30,000 persons being present. A resolution protesting against the action of Germany with regard to the Caroline Islands was carried amidst great enthusiasm. [special TO press ASSOCIATION.] ' London, August 24. It is considered probable that Spain will retain possession of the Western and Germany the Eastern portion of the Caroline Islands.
