EPSOM HALL CONCERT.

As wan anticipated by the promoters, thf above concert,' on Wednesnay evening, passed off in a most supcessfal manner, more especially in its application to the perform* ances of the ladies and gentlemen who took, part in the proceedings. The concert wan given in aid of the hail fund, bat, notwit;h« standing the fact of there having been a good house, it will not prove a great financial success. Nevertheless, the nature of tjie entertainment as a whole was of 6UQ)i V character as to satisfy the most fastidious, and the concert committer and feajl proprietors have been amply rewarded for their efforts in getting up the concert by the expressions of opinion on its general excel* lehce, and by the congratulations received on its success an a high claps concert The programme was a lengthy one, and encores were not allowed, except in one or two' cases, though they were enthusiastically demanded on nearly every occasion.' The singing of Miss Huxtable (a young lady of 12 years), and the recitations of Master Walter Barry (a lad of 11 years), gave the audience great pleasure, both on account of theiir extremely youthful appearance and from the highly creditable nature of their performances. Mo Alpine; song, " The Old Love and the New," Mrs. Green* wood (Wellington); nong, "The Anchor's Weighed," Mr. W. O. Garland ; song, - 'Stop the Clock" (comic), Mr. Joseph fi,eay; song, " Some Day," Miss Trewheeler ; duet, " Oh, Albion," Messrs, C. Taylo? §n<J ,W* 0. Garland song (comic), " Oh, Julia," Mr. Holthnm. An interval pf five minutes. Recitation, "Uncle Sam's Stamp* Speeojj," Mr. Joseph Beay; song, " Draining of Home and Mother, Miss Suitable; recitation, " The Charge pf the Light Brigade." MwM Walter Barry; pong, "The Arab's F§rewel| to his Steed," Mr. W. 0. Garland J WPS* "No, Sir," Miss Kilgour; song, (f Levis Never Dies," Mr. C. Ait the close of the prgsntmnie the hall was speedily cleared for dancing, which was kept up with spirit for two hours, Mr. Holtham acting as M.G. with groat tact and efficiency.
