POLICE COURT.—TCKSDA*. " v (Before Ueisri, C. Laßocha and R. Sterenion, JJ.'A.J Drunkenness. — Four men, ' for first offences, were mulcted in the usual r" "*'ty. Richard Bell, for being drunk and d - •ly in Albert-street, was fined £6 and ' of--14 days' hard labour. Peter Petersen, for fighting and disorderly conduct in Albertstreet, was fined 20s and costs, or Haven day* ; and Eliza Lestrange, for being drut)k And disorderly, was mulcted in a similar penalty. Henry Jermyn Hanway, for being drunk and disorderly in Swan son-street, was fined 20s and costs, or seven days in default. Peter Migin, for a like offence, was also mulcted in a similar penalty. " Laboen; of Spirits. — Walter Tyrell was charged with stealing a case of schnapps valued at 50s, property of Bridget MoDermott, licensee of the Empire Hotel*' on Jane 2. Tbe accused pleaded not; guilty. Sergeant Pratt applied 10 have the case remanded to Thursday. Remanded accordingly, and an application by the accused for bail was granted, accused in his own recognisances of £50, and two , sureties of £•25 each. v . ,
Th» Clothes Line Robberies.—Hendola Dewson (10), and William Hendricks was brought up on remand upon six charges of larceny of underclothing, the property of Wra. Fnnix Ogilvie, Jas. Scutfc, 5 Jas. O'Donnell, Catherine McCabe, Wra. Sandford, and John Parrah, committed between May 19 and May *23. ' On the application of Sergeant Pratt, the accused were remanded to Thursday, and allowed to be kept in the Salvation Army Home in the meantime. John James Comas also came up on remand on two similar charges of stealing underclothing valued at £7 ss, the property of James Laing, and a similar charge of stealing underclothing belonging to Albert Gabolenscky. On the application of Sergeant Pratt the case was remanded to Thursday. The accused applied for bail, and said be had been three times remanded upon the charges, - Sergeant Pratt considered it would not meet the ends of juqtiqe to grant bail, as the accused was copcerped jr the cases against the ohildren. The Bench refused the application for bail. Harriet Dewson also came up on remand on two charges of receiving a quantity of clothing,: etc., from the children Dewson and Hen* dricks, well knowing them to be stolen. On' the application of Sergeant Pratt this ease was also remanded to Thursday. .ji
