ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL

At the meeting of the Council on Monday there were present—the (Aayor, and' Messrs, Dunwoodie, Hills, Robinson, Shaldriok, Sullivan, Tapp, Webb, and. Yates. MoCarty. for permission to remove some stone frqm the Recreation Reserve, 'was- refused, as it .was considered that all the atone [would be required for fenoing and other purposes.—Mr. Robinson stated that considerable damage was being caused to the fence round the Recreation Ground by footballers scrambling over the walls, and suggested that the police . be requested to keep a look-out for the offenders.— The Town Clerk was instructed to draft a petition to the Governor to enlarge the boundaries of the Borough so as to include a portion of the foreshore.Mr. Yates to supply the necessary data.—Two tenders were received for concreting the footpath round the corner of Queen and Princes Streets, neither of which was accepted, as the Council considered the cost too ' great.' The credit balance was stated to be £355 7s lid, with liabilities under contract amounting to £555 8s 4d. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £14 7s 2d. — The Clerk was instructed to reply that this Council prefer to remain as at present to Sir Julius - Voxel's circular, and not adopt the Act of 1882.—The Clerk reported having given notice to six defaulters, and was instructed to proceed against those who had not paid the tax, and to give final notice to another batoh of defaulters.— Council then adjourned, and met as the local Board of Health, to consider Dr. Scott's acoount for fees for reporting cases of infectious diseases, As Dr. Scott was Mayor during a portion of the period at which fees were charged, the Council had' only passed for payment a portion of the account, considering he was not entitled to claim for the balance, and referred 4 ' the matter to the Local Board of Health. [ It was resolved that the Council be recommended to pay the account in fall.
