Ocean Races.— is no grander speotacle in the world than that of a great ship cleaving her trackless way across the tumbling waves. By the application of steam we have now been able to attain a rate of speed undreamt of . in old times; and, just as we admire first the great raeehorse for his speed, and. then join in the maddening excitementof a great race, so now' the same spirit has bean carried into ocean racing. The spectacle is certainly grand; ho t how about the safety of the people?
