NEWS FROM ROTORUA.
[by tblegbaph— correspondent.] Rotorcta, Monday. The Bishop of Waiapu preached to a large European congregation in the Rotorua Hotel last evening. Initbe forenoon Diving service in Maori was oonducted by him in the new Church of St. Faith's, and in the afternoon be addressed the Sunday-school children. The fixings and furniture for St. Faith's are now ready, and will be placed in position within a fortnight. A handsome crimson oovering, fringed and inscribed in gold will adorn the altar—a gift from the Bishop's brother, the Premier of New South Wales. The section applied for by the Unsectarian Church Committee is at last made over in perpetuity by the Government. It only now remains to have a deed drawn up. The notorious vagrant. Mcßeth was brought up on remand this morning on the charge of having accomplished the trip to the Rotomahana Terraces, including hotel charges both here and at Wairoa, without funds. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour.
