CHARGE OF FRAUD AGAINST GOVERNMENT EMPLOYES.

Thomas Howe, formerly time-keeper on the Ly ttelton railway, and eight other employes, are charged with defrauding the Government by. means of Howe giving the others credit for doing work which they never performed. The exact amotint :of the defalcations is not known, but it is believed to be some hundreds of pounds. . Howe was arrested in Wellington, and arrived yesterday.
