Our Alexandra correspan dent writes : Somei oil the milk suppliers to the JPaterangi Factory are grumbling at the length of time they are kept out of their returns. Last year they reooived for their milk 2Jd per gallon, and had eleven months to wait for that. The annual report of the company stated that they were to get something more, but they never got a sixpence. This year, as one of them informed me, they commenced taking their milk to the factory on the 22ad October, and had not received a penny up to the 21st inst. The amount received for cheese already sold had gone to pay the manager's expenses, who reoeives £230 per annum, with the sole privilege of doing all the carting of ooal and cheese at 8s per ton, and with free houea, and a penny per lb. profit on all toe oheeae he can sell retail—a large salary for the work of only a portion of the year. In addition to this he got £15 from an apprentice, and the use of his labour—the only other labour besides hit own that he provided being that of a boy, whom he discharged at the end of the chaesemaking season. My informant say b can it be wondered at that the factory is not the success it should be (there are only eleven milk suppliers), and argues that if the factory paid 3£d per gallon, as the Waikato Factory does, it would get plenty of milk, and then the working expenses pro rata would be lighter. It is also stated that there are one or two of the directors who lend money, or rather advance 2d per gallon, on the milk at 10 per cent-, which hat not a tendenoy to hasten the dispoaal of the oheeae and the squaring of accounts.
