With the exception of the men driving on the leader at No. 3 level (which is not being broken down), all hands are working on Ellia's leader. Moanataiari jßxtknded.— The drive on the leader is 63 feet. The load is about nine inches wide, and bears a favourable appearance. The shaft is down 56 feet below No. 1 level. A leader a foot to 18 inches wide has been passed through. The northern cross-cut is in 84S! feet. Qukkn of Bej tjty. —A contract (for sinking a winze on the lode last cat has been let at 21e 6d per foot;. Pinafore.—Dulahunty and party, the company's tribuliers, have just finished a crushing of 301bs. picked stone for a yield of 12ozs. 2dwta. melted gold. Darwin.— crushing is still delayed, the batteries being stopped for want of water power. The sto]>es above 240 feet level are still yielding good crushing dirt. The quartz accumulated will enable ten head to be started. Cambria.—The mine manager reports :— 151bs. of specimens were obtained from a stringer running into the hangingwall of the reef in No. 3 stopes, eastern end. I would recommend a cro as-cut to be put in at No. 1 level into the hungingwall of the reef. At present we require mullock to fill the stapes, and themullook from here could be used for that purpose, ami , prospect this level at the same time. The Prince Imperial Battery has • been stopped two days owing to the scarcity of water,, The stuff at the battery is still shaping fairly. :
