[reutsr's cablegram.] SALE OF KAURI TIMBER. Melbourne, October 2S. Kauri pine was solcl at auction to-day at the following average prices per 100 feet super.:—Hewn logs, 12s to 12s 6d. The market is depressed. Messrs. 0. S. Ross and Co., of this city, report the sale of a cargo of kauri timber, ex Caberfeidh, at the following rates per 100 feet super.:—Hewn logs, 12s; sawn boards, 1 inch, lis to lis 6d; ditto, to 3 inch, 13s 9d. SYDNEY U'OOL SALES. Sydney, October 28. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency held their second wool sale of the season this day. The catalogue comprised 1300 bales, of which 1077 bales were sold. Medium greasy wool realised to lOd, and . medium scoured to A. spirited competition was experienced. MELBOURNE GRAIN" MARKET. Melbourne, October 2S. _ The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Co., of New Zealand (Limited) reports of the local markets as follov>-s:—Wheat, 3s lOd to 3s lid. The market is flat. Malting barley is 4s to 4s 3d'; New Zealand oats, feeding quality, 3s 6d to 3s Sd, with moderate inquiry. Malting ditto are steady, at 03 Sd.to 3s 9d. New Zealand oats, under bond, are slow of. sale, at 2s lQd to 3d.
