VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
A BATTERY NO. 2 ARTILLERY. The A Battery met at the rifle range on Saturday afternoon, to fire for the company's champion belt. Two matches were fired, one at 200, 400, and 500 yards. The second match at 300, 400, and 500 yards. A strong westerly wind was blowing during the afternoon, and the shooting was not so good as last year. Gunner Para low is the winner, with a score of 113. Woolley, the present holder, at 500 yards in the last match had a possible fivo bull's-eyes to beat Gunner Parslow. The first three were bull's-eyes, and the fourth and fifth proved inner, near the bull'seye. He therefore lost the belt by only two points. Captain Payne was in charge.
