HOSPITAL COMMITTEE.

A MErrrso of the Hospital Committee was held yesterday afternoon at half-past two, when there were present: The Mayor, in the chair, Mr. Dando, Colonel Haultain, Mr. Maokaohnie, and Captain Daldy. The minutes were read and confirmed, and reports from the Home Surgeon were alto read.

Dislkfkcting House.—The Chairman reported having visitea the Hospital with Mr. Murfiu, and that they had (elected a sit* for the disinfecting hous* at the north-east corner of tho Hospital grounds. Training School.—A letter was received from the Colonial Secretary's Office in answer to a request from the Hospital Committee, that the Hospital may be gazetted a training sohool for nurses, to the effect that " there is no provision in any Act, for making any proclamation as to training schools for nursss, but there aan be no objection to the Auckland Hospital being made suoh a training sohool; indeed, it would bo a most desirable step " Tknsbbs for Sopplt or Fikkwood.— Hammond and Byron'a tender was accepted for Taupiri coal at 20s 6d and 22s per ton, and firewood at 12s.

Payment bt Patients.—lt wan resolved that all indoor patients at the hospital be mado to sign a memorandum of agreement, promising to pay a certain snm per week for their maintenance, care and attendance, while in hospital, and to give a lien to the committee on all moneys'and property of whatever kind soever left by them with the hospital authorities.

Second Cook.—John Donnelly was appointed second cook. Cosvalmckmt Aid Fond.—lt was agreed that the convalescent aid fund be disbursed by the Chairman and one member of the committee.

Refoce Riports. —It was an instruction to the Secretary to lay before the meeting a fortnightly report from the Refuge.
