VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

A. paradk of the Hobion Company was held last night, and there was a good attendance of the members in their new and handaomo uniforms and white belts. In some instances it was found that some of the yonng members felt rather tightened in their apparel, bnt these had grown considerably since the order for their uniform had been forwarded. Lieutenant Flynn sent in bis resignation as a lieutenant of the company. This is to be regretted. Mr. Flynn was a capable officer, a good drill, and a painstaking one, bnt there is a superfluity of lieutenants in this company. Lieutenant Clifton, who occupies his position as lieutenant of this company, resumes his normal right as senior-lientenant, and Mr. Connolly comes next in rank. Some are of opinion that when the battalion dropped which left Major Derrom out, the other battalion officers ought to have gone ont, but it appears that in this instance Mr. Clifton's resignation, as lieutenant of the Hobson Company, was never accepted. The loss of Mr. Flynn's services to the company is serious, but there would be a still greater loss if the effort for the pride of place should lead to complications on the part of the snbaltern. The oompany is now pledged to a heavy expenditure for accoutrements and clothing, and these expenses must be met. However, there are company fund* available to meet the defioiency ( and this is in the main due to the care with whioh Captain Dignan ha* worked the finances of the com pany. "
