IMPROVEMENTS AT OHINEMURI.

[BY TSLEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, SuDday. Through the exertions of Captain Morris, M.H.R., the County Council will be enabled to invite tenders on Monday for a new devia. tion of tho Tharnes-Tauraaga road via Karangahake. The deviation improves the road considerably, and takes it through a mora picturesque portion of the country, besides making access to the Karangahake goldfield more easy. It is intended to connect the road and the Karangahake road near the Hauraki battery by a wire suspension bridge, and to lay out a township, on which a public school will be erected to suit the requirements of Owharoa, Mackeytown, and Karangahake.
