« Mn. R. 'Aainuit's Weekly EErotiT.—A busy week in all departments. Potatoes have not improved in price, but stock is low ; those of good quality move off fairly. Onions pretty firm; not a great demand : well cleared out. Cheese has been in good demand: a large quantity has been sold at 4d to 63 per lb. Butter in good demand, all cleared off. Frutt: Local grown has brought good prices ; Hobart soils lower; tho supply of local bas very much decroassd this week. Furniture: A large demand. Monday: Sale of unredeemed pledges, from Mr. Asher; tho second sale. The attendance was good, but bidding was very languid. Tuesday: Sale of household furniture and effect 3at mart. There was a fair attendance. A large quantity sold at good pricos ; suites sold at £1S 2s 6d to £1S 10a. 'Wednesday: Sale of fruit. It was well attended. Hobart fruit could not be cleared out at low pricos ; sold at 4s to 7s for apples. Auckland apples brought 2Jd to B}d : pears, vjd to 3d ; tomatoes. Id ; island oranges, Ss per caso ; biscuits, 6d per lb.; cheese, <3d. Thursday: Salo of freehold properties in the city. A fair number presont. The ullotmont in Wakofield-street (50 by 114 links) sold at £24 per foot. The property situated at the .'ornar of i'ranlilln-road and Englandstreet: Bidding did not come up to reserve. It is now for sale privately at a low price. Friday: Market day salo at mart. Itwa3well attended throughout. A good business was done at very satisfactory prices. The supply of poultry was not so large as usual, and improvement in prior. Tho following are some of the prices realised:- Suites of furniture, of 7 pieces realised from £4 10s to £S; 0 pieces, £S to £17; chests of drawers £1 10s to £5; round and oval tables, £1 to £2 5s ; kitchen tables, 0< to 18s; dining tables, 15s to £2 4s ; chairs, 4s 6d to 14s; couches, £1 Es to £3; meat safes, 12s to £1 ss; dressing tables, 7s Cd to 17s; washstsuds. 93 to 17s Cd; wardrobes, £2 to £5 ; mirrors, 4s 6d to £3 10s ; carpets. 2s to 3s 9d per yard; oilcloth. Is 2d to 4s 3d per yard ; wool mats, 5s to 14s each. Suits of clothes sold at from £1 Es to £3 ; trousers, 3s 6d to 9s : shirts, £1 4s to £2 8s per dozen; overcoats, £1 to £2 each ; blankets, 9s Cd to 18s per pair ; quilts 4s Gd to 14s; curtains, 6s 6d to ISs; potatoes realised Ss 6d per ent.; pumpkins, 3s 6d; carrots, 3s 9d; maize, 4s 9d per bushel; oats, 2s lOd. A consignment of fancy goods realised satisfacto:y prices. Albums, £2 2s to «.4 6s per dozen, of which a largo quantity was sold. Crockery, holloware, ironmongery, pictures aud saddlery sold at fair prices. Saddles were in good demand, porhaps owing to the fact of their cheapness, a consignment having been sent ta us for sale without reserve.
