COMMERCIAL.

NIW Zkalako Hekald Office. Thursday evening. The Customs receipts to-day wero £'SSO ISs 3d. The week has closed quietly, and few sales of any consequence have come under our notice. The demand both, locally and from the country, has been of a limited character, and tho few sales reported have been of small parcels for actual wants. In dairy produce we have to quote butter at Is per lb. wholesale, and Is 3d per lb. retail ; and eggs at Is 6i per doz. wholesale, and Is 9d per doz. retail. The market has been a fairly active market for grain. Maize, of which several parcels have been sent on to Sydney, is now quotable at 3* 3d to 3s 6d, being an advanco of 3d.
