T)r. Wilkins, lato ot Melbourne and Christchurch, it will be seen by reference to our advertisement columns, has commenced both in genera) and special practice in bin private rooica, Queen-sircet, opposite South British fnsurauce Baildings. Dr. Wilkins had a leading sractice in .Melbourne for many years, which he had to give up, being unable to stand the exhausting heat of Australia. He was honorary surgeon to one of the large hospitals there 'for many years, and also *o the Infirmary for Diseases of the .Lye, Ear and Throat. He has now elected to make Auckland his permanent reiidence, .in preference to the other large New Zealand towns. Whilst practising in Melbourne, being a good operator, he contributed largely to medical literature. In treatises pamphlets on the cure of vaticose veins, on the treatment of diphthera; also, on in-growing toe nails and its cure, without an oporatiou. He also published pamphlets on the cure of squint, cleft palate, diseases of the throat, eye, nose and throat, &c. We have no hesitation in speaking of their author, Dr. Wilkins. as a valuable addition to our population, and can have little doubt of his succesß amongst us in Auckland. Such an opportunity will never occur again. Another week and Whitcombe's Art Union will bo drawn. Tickets may be had at Whitcombe's next the Market f
