o Nbw Zbaland Hebald Office. Thursday eveninsr. The Customs receipts to-day were £506 12s 6d. Business during the past week has been somewhat interfered with by the holiday on Regatta Day, but still a fair amount of business ia reported. In butter we have no alterations to report, but in eggs we have to note a rise of 3d per doz. Batter we <*uote at 3d per lb. wholesale, aDd lOd per lb. retail. Eggs are now la 3d per doz. wholesale, and Is 6d per doz. retail. The kauri gum market still continues brisk, several eood sales being reported for the week. Prices remain unchanged, but are firm. The Antares takes a part cargo for the London market, and already shipments are waiting for the barque Lutterworth, which is also to be placed on the berth for the same port. The receipts for the month amount to 453 tons. In other lines we have no alterations to note. 'With the return of flue weather outdoor trades have increased in briskness, and the various new buildings now in course of erection are rapidly being pushed on towards completion. Messrs. Vaile and Douglas held a sale of land and houses at their rooms, Shortland-street, yesterday. There was a large attendance, and the bidding for several lots was spirited. LIVE STOCK AND PRODUCE MARKETS. AUCKLAND.

Mr. Altred Buckland's Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket, on Friday, January 25, fodder was plentiful. Oaten hay brought from 4s to 4s 6d; meadow hay, 3s 3d per cwt. Horse stock were in visual number, aDd without alteration in values. A strong riding horse brouirht £28. At Papaknra, on Wednesday, a larger than usual muster of stocx of all kinds met with a steady demand at full values, and there was an improved enquiry for dairy cattle. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle near their profit were in demand. Store cattle at low values. Fat cattle were yarded in full number, and with no improvement in value: The trade have bought in excess of their immediate wanti, and unless small markets for a week or two, the prices will be permanently low. Fat sheep were in fall supply, but maintained their price, ranging from 2d to 2Jd the lb. Store sheep were -dull of sale. Lambs were in moderate number, and late values ; best quality brought from 10s to 14s each. Pigs continue in good demand at satisfactory prices. Tho averages were: 60 Hawera oxen. £7 1"S ; 18 steers, J. L. Tole, £6 ; 8 steers, P. K. Fraser, £5 lis ; 23 steers, J S Grahame, £7 2s ; 12 cows, N. Hunt, £4 ; 7 head, J. M. Tho Durham Yards were well filled on Friday, and horses of all classes met a fair market, the draft from Hawera selling at satisfactory prices to the vendor. There still remains a good demand for sound heavy draught and coach horses. There was not -ny noteworthy alteration in late quotations. On Satusday we held a privato sale at Mr. Hay's farm, at Hetcnsville. The dairy cows, wh'.ch were really first-class, elicited keen competition, and sold at high rates ; young stock also sold welL The farm mare fetched £35, and the implements at their value ; the Hereford bull (threoquarter bred), £7 15*. Hides, skins, and wool: Consequent on the holidays we held our usual Tuesday's weekly sale on Monday, and prices were as followß :— Hides, 2}d to 33d; skies, from Is to 2s lOd ; bags of wool, 2jd to 5Jd par lb. Cattle : Notwithstanding wo bold our Junction sale on Wednesday, tbera was a large muster of all classes. Dairy cattle were in Improved demand, and, with few exceptions, all in were disposed of at an advance on late prices, store cattle especially ; steers were in good demand at late quotations. Sheep: The yards were well filled. The draft of Shropshire downs from Matamata were first-class mutton, and met keen competition ; lambs in modern to supply, and sold at from 6* 6d to 15s. Pigs in average supply and improved demand. THAMES CATTLE MARKET. Messrs. Banks and Co.'* Weekly Report (by Telegraph).—At Parawai. on Thursday, fat cattle were In full supply, a " °' choice quality. Prices were barely sustained at last week': quotations, 22s to 23s per lOOlbs. being the average obtained. Sheep were tn very large numbers. Cross-bred ewes, of good quality, brought 9s 3d to 13s 9d. Merino wethers were withdrawn. Lambs were in usual supply, and sold at Ss to 9s 6d each.
