THE CHARGE AGAINST HARRY GOODWARD.
TO THE EDITOK.
Sir, —Your statement in last issue, that "Harry Uoodward is a Salvationist," is in correct. On m> arrival in Auckland (fourteen weeks ago) his name was given to me by the retiring officer as one whose conduct was suspicious, and I have several times reproved him for his bad conduct in the meetings since. When the Army first came here he gave his name in as a soldier, but has not been recognised as such for several months. His place in the meeting was generally amongst the larrikins, and he has never "testified" to my knowledge. Without reflecting upon the character of Miss Paiuo I may add she i 3 not an enrolled soldier with us, neither do I know her personally. Hoping this paragraph will receive as much prominence as the one it contradicts.—l a:u, &c., Captain D. Gbahah. January 16, ISS4.
