COMMERCIAL SUMMARY.
SALES BY AUCTION. December 14. Mr, G. W. Binney sold to-day 31 wooden houses on Xarangahape-road, Xewton. They were sold for immediate removal, and they realised from 30a to £46 each. The total proceeds from the sale was £455. December 3L Mr. R. C. Greenwood sold to-day, at his mart, by order of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, lota 43 and 44, Brown-street, Pon*onby. Lot 43. £2 7a Cd per foot; 44, £2 12a Cd per foot. •January 4. Messrs. E. and A. Isaac 3 report that they ' held an exteniive sale by auction yesterday of j boats, SAiis, kz., from the Triumph. The j attendance was good, and the bidding was ) particulatly spirited. The prices obtained ! astonished many, and were no doubt owing to » the fact that the vessel at the time of auction [ was on the road to Auckland. "WOOL SALES. I Messrs. Hunter and Nolan held their second wool- I Sile at the Darhvm *ale j-ird* on Dec. 10. There was a s»ood attendance cl buyers, and recent prices were sustained. Indeed, there was an advance which misrhl be coa*Hered equal to id in the pound. Messr#. Hunter and Nolan held tbeir third wool sale of ths season on Dec. 24, when prices were as arm a3 last sal?. Mr. A. Kucklacd held his third wool sale for the season, a; the Hajmarket, on December 19. la all 270 bates were offeree, beeides bag 3 and parcels. The prices were on the whole Bimilar to those of the previous sales, but showed a shade lower than the second sale. The quality of the wool was on the whole coaiae, and taking this into consideration, the alteration in the price waa hardly perceptible, except that there was no advance. NAPIER. December 25.—Messrs. Hoadley, Lvoa, and Co. held their tirat wool sale of the season to-daj*. The catalogue consisted of 432 bale* of greisy wool, all of which were sold, excepting 14 lots. For greasy crossbred 7Jd was re*Us*d, and for merino 9<L The attendance was good. Competition was spirited. SALE OF CROWS LANDS. A public sale of Crown lands was held on Dec. 23, at the Lands Office, Parllament-itreet, Mr. D. A. Tole, Chief Commissioner, conducting the sale. There was a good attendance, and in many Instances sums considerably over tho upset prices were realised. The total proceeds of the sale were £1506 Is 2d.
