CRICKET.
BANK OF NEW ZEALAND MATCH. Yesterday being the twenty-second aanivereay of the Bank of New Zealand, a special bank holiday was given to the employe's at the different branches throughout the colony. Auckland being the head office, and consequently having a large number of clerks, the day was spent on a cricket match on the Domain ground. a\ o less than seventeen a-side was played. The teams were United Kingdom v. Calonials. Air. W. E. Barton captained the former, while Mr. N. F. Giblindid a like doty for the latter. United Kingdom handled the bat tirst, and were all disposed of for 48, Simpson and Dawkin compiling 10 each. The Coir, nials followed, and succeeded in making a. tie on the ih-st innings. Woods shaped well for sixteen. Hib hits %vere clean and well-timed. None of the other batsmen reached double figures. Barton and Coxon started the United Kingdom'ii second venture, but the latter was dismissed; l.b.w. after knocking up 13. Barton playek an excellent innings of 92, which was only marred by two lives—a very simple one at point when he had scored 13, and the other in the long-rield near the end of,,his innings. Dawkin, who partnered the Auckland crack, played very carefully for 17.
