ECLIPSE OF THE MOON.
.To-night, a partial eclipse of the moon will occur, visible in Auckland. The times of the various phases are as follow :— • Local Tiroes. n. .v. S. First contact with the penumbra .. 412 21 First contact with the shadow • • 5 29 G Middlo of the eclipse 6 24 IS Last contact with tho shadow .. 7 1U 30 Last contact with the penumbra .. 836 12 Magnitude of the cclipse (moon's diameter = 1) 0*277. The first contact occurs at lSSdegs, from tho moon's lower limb towards the oast. The last contact at 165 dogs, towards the west, in each case for direct image. At Aucklaud, the moon will rise eclipsed at 5.44 p.m. S. J. Lambert, F.R.A.S. A partial eclipse of the moon will occur this evening. At Auckland, the latter phases only are visible.
