GOSPEL TEMPERANCE MISSION.
The fourth meeting in connection with the Gospel Temperance Mission Was held last evening in the Theatre Koy.al, there being a very large attendance. Dr. Knightoccupied the chair, the Eeva. G. Bond, W. C. Oliver, and Macfarland, and Mr. J, WrigUy being the speakers. I'he subject chosen for dpn? sideration. was "The desecration, of the Sabbath, and strong drink a robber Of the Churches." The various speakers dweit most eloquently upon the effect of drink as a powerful means towards the desecration pf the Sabbath, and urged upon ail to do. their, utmost to stay the traffic. It was stated that since the starting of the mission on Monday last over 140 had taken .tho pledge and donned the '■ bit of blue." To-night was .announced, as the last night of the rnia. sion. On Saturday night a testimony meeting is to be held in. .ta'.e Bapjiist Church, Wellesley-streetj to. "which al: are. invited. Last night's meeting was opened,and closed . With the usual devotional e&ircises.
