Supposing that it may interest some of your readers, I ..send it to you. It is worthy of remark that, while wages generally are considerably higher now than they were, at that pefipd, all the necessaries of life, farm produce, timber, &c, are now just, about one-half the price they were then.—Yours, &c, G. Auckland Peioes, 7th April, 1855.—0n the. 7th April I brought 100 merino wethers from Taranaki, and sold them at market at 34a 6d each ; dairy cows, a fine lot, at £15 each ; aE.d heifers, £12 ; oxen brought £16; working bullocks, £30 to £35 ; oats, 7s 6d per bushel; maize, 7s 6d to 8i ; red clover. Is per lb.; rjegrass seed, 15a per bushel; fiesh butter, 2a 6d; suit butter, 2j to 23 6d ; cheese, Is 3d ; hams, Is : bacon., 10d ; beef, 9d. to 10a ; mutton, Si. to 91; perk. Til to 9d ; wheat, 11a 6d per bushel; bread, 9d per 21b.-loaf i tea, £8 per ohest; sngiir, 3Jd. to 4d ; lpaf sngnr, 6d to GJd; fine salt, £8; Liverpool ealtj £6; sawn timber,. 245 , to 203 per 100 feet; ahinglea,. 2.4 i; firewood, 13i to 14s per ton. Labour: Carpenters and bricklayers, 12s per day ;. farm servants, in house, or With rations, allowed £35. per annum, or ioa per webk. Hay, £3 per ton ; straw, £5. Extremely dry weather. No rain had, fallen for four or five months.
