The cutter Start, from "Whangarei, brings a cargo of 50 tonß of coal. i The fbip Warwick will proceed hence, in ballast, for Newcastle, and from thence take a ! cargo of coal for San Francisco. Stafta is announced to leave for Tauranga and Opotiki this afternoon for the purpose of resuming her trade between thoße two ports. Whilst lying up in the harbour tho , Staff* has received a thorough overhaul to her hull and machinery, and several impovements have also been made to the vessel's passenger accommodation that should prove acceptable to her patronß, and under the careful charge of Captain Austen we have no doubt she will give every satisfaction to both the shippers and passengers. The WESTMEATH. —Upon reference to our advertisement columns it will be seen that the agentß for this vessel, Messrs. Cruickshank and Co., urgently request consignees to hare their entries in readiness before the Westmoath : arrives, so that the steamer may not have any* unnecessary delay at thia port. It is all the more neccssary that the request of the agents i should be acted upon as a special permit has been granted for the general laading of all cargo immediately after her reporting at the Customs, and any cargo impeding the vessel will at once be stored at the con&ienees' risk and expense. Consignees will readily see tho necessity of acting in the direction named, as the stay of the steamship at this port will not, it is expected, be more than 43 or 50 hours. Tho steamer is due here, as wb have already intimated, on the 9th inat. (Wednesday next).
