THE STONE IMAGE CASE AT OHINEMUTU.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Ohinemotu, Saturday. The adjourned stone image case opened this morning, Mr. Earl appearing for the defendants. Large numbers of witnesses have gathered from all quarters, the Conrt-hons e being too small to accommodate even a third of them. Mr. Earl, previous to entering on the case, wished to compromise matters by offering to replace the image from whence it was taken, but the plaintiff refused, and asked for a full hearing. This case may probably last two or three days, and will doubtless prove tedious in the extreme.
