"La Fille uk Madame Anuot," one of the mos" brilliant of Lecneq's opera boulles, was produ -ed at the Tlieatro Royal last nichc by the Simonseu Opera C .mpany, and Miss Leonora Simonsen was introduced in the title r.'de, Chirotte. The y.'img lady at once made herself at ru/jj.-ort with the audience. Her choice expression, piquant iuaime r , ami thorough knowledge of the pare, mane a feature in the whole performance. Jt was, however, in the second act, when Madams Sim Hisen appeared as Mdile. Lanue, that the spirit o: tile opera was manifested. She was lecoived with enthusiastic applause, and from this time carried ihe success of the opera on herself. The revolutionary song by Claire'te was sung with fine spirit and dramatic .-ction, ainfthe eral 'eadiug duets were marked by artistij skill, painstaking care, and admirable expression. Mr. Brenner sustained the rule of Auge Pitou. In this he had a dilli :ult p irt and music of a very h ; gh clas% to which*he did full justice. Miss t'lorenee Saville, as Amarante, sang and acted we'd, and the principals were ably support-id by Mr Fitzgeiald, as Pompounet, Mr. Wentvvorth as I.arivaudicre, Mr. Saurell as Louchard, and by the other members of the company. The opera is to be repeated toliiyiit, aud "Sitanella" is underlined for Saturday and Monday.
