TRINITY CHURCH, DEVONPORT.
The Annual Harvest Festival service took place in this church on Saturday evening, when tue church was very tastefully decorate 1 with fruits, flowers, evergreeus, &c. The decorations though not so [.•rofuseas on former occasions were very chaste, and reflected great credit on those who took part in the work. The most not:ceable parts were the lecturn, communion table, and screen b. fore saeranum. The service on Saturday evening w;.s Wt 11 attended, and the choir, about thirty-four voices, supplemented by some goed voices from town, rendered the musical portion of the service #11 that ciuld he desired. The anthem " Praise the Lord, 0 Jerusa em," b-ing well done. Jiyc.ns suitable to the occasion were chosen from Hymns Ancit-nt and Modern, and all went splendidly. The service was continued on Sunday, iiml the cho r, although not q-d:e so strong as on the previous evening was well supplemented by til.- presence of Mr. H. Cordon Uooeh, who, by the way, has just returned from the Melbourne Musical Festival. It is meih-ss to say that the shig'ng oif this occasion w>s everything that could be desired. Oil Sunday evening the anthem " Praise the Lord " was repeated. Throughout, the hymns, chants, tie., were of tho ■ rig .t-st description in every way, and sui ablc to th .• occasion
and the season that was being comiii:mora;ed.
