Bad weather telegrams have been received here from Reefton, Ivumara, anil Btaley, notify ing a continuous heavy rain, Sot-Jinj rivers, and the stick up oi mails. The country along the Christcliurch road is flooded for miles, and the Grey river is ia i very heavy fresh just now, and the lagooai; dammed back a considerable height, it is still raiting, without any sign or cessation. Kane of the mails due here to-day arrived. Later.—The river in high flood, aad tie steamer Kennedy is detained in consequence. The Ahaura and Tereniakau are also is a flood. The latter river is so high that Csu cannot cross. It is still raining, and there":! every prospect that the floods will be increased. Christchfp.cii, Friday. It has been raining all the afternoon asi evening, but not to a great extent. Hokitika, Friday. The rivers are in heavy floods. The Christchurch coach which left to-day, stoet at old John's, and no Greymcuth mu!i arrived. A portion oi the southern portion of the works of the port was carried away by the flood and heavy sea.
