SALES BY AUCTION. May 23. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs held a salo yeaterday of 195 packageß of Jeffrey's iiloa and stout and 375 packages of wines nnd spirits. The nlca nnd ntout were all quitted at low rates. Several lines of the wines and Bpirita wero also quitted. May 25. Mr. G. W. Binney held a sale to-dny of valuable city leaaeholds. There was a largo attendance, and tho sale proved very satinfactory ; Bcveral lota having realised over tho reserve. About five allotments of this property was not leasod, as was also tho case in tho Oreat North Eoad allotments. The salo adds about'£3oO per annum to tho Improvement Commissioners' Trust Fund account, leaving only 12 allotments of tho whole ostato unlcased, while £310 per annum is also added to tho city endowment rent roll.
Mr. G. W. Binney also sold at his auction | rooms, to-day, two valuable blocks of freehold property, situated at Newmarket, iu tho o»tato of the late James Wrigley. The total amount ( realised was £3240, the Grst having lot brought £1500, aud the secoud £1740. Mr. F. G. Clayton purchased both lots. May 30. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs held a sale of pianos, musical boxes, &c, to-day The attendance was not ?ood, and but few woro quitted at low Price - M.y3l. Mr. Gabriel Lewis held a sale of 22 paokages of woollen fancy goods, drapery, Ate, to-day, but, the attendance being small, only small portions of tho goods wero quitted, and these at low prices. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs submitted about £1000 worth of jewellery aud plated goods at their commercial sale room, to-day. Tho attendance was not large, and only a small portion of tho goods wero disposed of at low ratet. Air. K. Arthur held a salo of laud to-dly at his auotion mart. There was a very good attendance; the bidding was animated, and good prices realised. The following aro the particulars of the sale:-A farm at To Kapa was sold at £1200 ; 150 acres at Alexandra | brought £300; and two allotments in tho same j township brought £10 10s each. Messrs. Vaile and Douglas disposed of a store, j situated in Franklin Road, yesterday, for £400. Under instructions from Mr. Kobort Graham, Mr. It. C. Greenwood held a salo of tho balance ; of the allotments in the Klleralie Park estate. Tho sale took place in Mr. W. Dowden's auction mart. Uhe attendance was very large, ■ and the prices obtained were satisfactory \ throughout, the total proceeds being £5522. With the exception of five, all the allotments | were disposed of, and those remaining are now open for private purchase. Juno 5. The property at Eist Tamaki offered for sale by auction to-day at the 3.N.L.A. rooms, was passed in, as owing to the bad weather, intending buyers were prevented from attending the sale. Several private offers little short of the reserve were received after the Bale for tho different sections. Tho farms will ordain bo offered by auction in about a month, unless previously disposed of privately. Juno 13. At Messrs, B. Tonks and Co.'a sale-rooms yesterday 2000 shares in tho Northern Steamship Company wore sold at 10s 3d each. A sale of oilmen's stores took placo to-day at Messrs. B. Tonks and Co.'d auction rooms. There was a large attendance of buyers, and considering the present overstocked state of the market, veiy satisfactory prioea wA¥o realised. Juno 14. Mr. Sibbin, auctioneer, disposed of Mr. O. Mays' nine-roomed dwelling-house, at the North Shore, to-day at £91. At Mr. Gabriel Lewis' sale rooms to-day, a quantity of furniture, oil paintings, Ate, ex Laira, wero submitted, but, owing to the overstocked condition of the market, the prices obtained wore not satisfactory, aad only a portion of the goods were disposed of. There was a fair attendance and a &ooa business was done, i'iano sold at £32. American organ, £28. The sale of Nelson fruit was largely attended, apples sold at 4Jd to 5(1 per lb. Wodnesday : Sale of leasehold properties. Tho one in Symonds-strcot was not sold.' A house of live-rooms and shop, at the corner of Ponsonby-road and Plcton-itreet, having about 20 years to run, at a yearly rental of £5, was sold by order of the Trustee In tho bankrupt ostato of Arthur C.
