AUCKLAND AND THE AUSTRALIAN SQUADRON.
TO THE EDITOR. ; Sib,—lt is reported that when the former Commodore was last here that he was treated so cavalierly and inhospitably, that on h:a leaving he eaid that neither his ship or any o£ the squadron under hie command should visit Auckland again, and I think he pretty well kept his promise. Perhaps the quarantine absurd regulations are partly to blame.. I have not noticed that the great couyenience of the dockyard at the North Shore has been alluded to, or the Admiralty floute, which, by the by, wants a flagstaff erected, with a>signal yard, if it is to be used by the Commodore or senior officer on the station.—l am, &c, FLAG'.TAFIV
