F. H., Auckland, writes:—" In all the accounts of the murder of Lord Cavendish and Mr. Burke, I have never seen mention made of the family Jlr. Burke belonged to. Can you give some little biography of him ?" Mr. Thomas Havilind Burke, the assassinated Under Secretary for Ireland, was the second son of Richard Burke, Ksq., of Keelognes, and first cousin of Sir John Lionel Burke, of GJinsk, Galway. He was born on May 29,1829.
