The site of the proposed hotel is pre-emi-nently adapted for the purpose, commanding as it does a large frontage (120 feet) to our magnificent harbour, with 41 feet frontages to each Queen-street and Little Queen-street. It is proposed to let, as offices, &c, a portion of the frontage on the ground floor facing the harbour, as is done in similar institutions in Great Britain and America. "Whea it is borne in mind that the Auckland Railway Station will in a few years be the terminus of a trunk line through the North Island, and that Auckland must be the first and last place of call for ocean-going steamers, and that the traffic from these sources is at present in its infancy, the necessity and the success of the proposed undertaking are undoubted. THE ESTIMATED COST OF THS BUILDING is not calculated to exceed £3000, leaving £2000 for contingencies, and it is the intention of the promoters to borrow the sum of £5000 upon the building. By this means the actual capital required of the shareholders will not exceed £10,000. By this arrangement, the profits on the undertaking will be much larger than if the whole amount were called up. The promoters hare not thought it necessary to appoint provisional directors, leaving the appointment to the shareholders themselves.
