New Zealand Herald Office, Wednesday evening. The Customs duties to-day amounted to £1149 4a lOd. Mr. R. Arthur yesterday offered the property at the corner of Queen and Darby-streets, known as Dornwell's property, for sale by auction. The attendance was large. The property is leasehold, having a long term, to tub, and an annual ground rent of £124 to pay. Bids followed each other until a sum of £5300 Tras offered, but as this did not reach the reserve price tho property was withdrawn. The Albert Hall property was then offered, and a sum of £4000 offered, but this equal to the reserve and the property was also passed. For a few days these properties will be in the auctioneers hands for private sale.
