New Zealand Herald Office, Monday evening. The Customs duties to-day amounted to £314 2s 4d. Me9tr9. Samuel Cochrane and Son sold tho farm at Wairoa .South, the property of the late Mr. B. Smith, for £11CC, and the land at the "Waiau brought £28. Mr. E. C. Greenwood offered a number of small farm lots at Waihcke. The attendance was good, but the bidding did not reach the reserved prices. The properties are open for private sale. Mr. Gabriel Lewis sold the stock-in-trade of Mr. J. Taylor, consisting of boots, shoes, and general plant. The goods were .ill sold, and realised excellent prices. At Mr. L. W. Elton's fruit sale the following prices were realised :—Apples, lAd to 2id perlb.; pears, 2Jd per lb.; quinces, Id per lb.; plums, 4Ad per lb. ; passion fruit, 7d per dozen.
