Donedin, Tuesday. The sale of the Otago runs was continued to-day, and resulted in a total being realised of £GS,SS4, which is nearly double the upset price, the amount of the latter being £37,217. The bidding to-day was scarcely so brisk, several lots going at the upset price only. Three runs of the 170 were passed in. The highest price to-day was £910, for one of which the upset price was £220. The whole original run of which the ; above lot was a subdivision, was put up at the upset of £1435, and the total realised was £4255, two out of the nine subdivisions going to new occupants. Another case in which the present holders boughtin the entire run of eight subdivisions, the upset price was £1257, and the price realised was £3000. In another case of six subdivisions at an upset of £1457, the present Holder repurchased the whole at £3060. The lowest price obtained was that of the upset of £10 for 5500 acres, a sale that was greeted with congratulatory applause. The buyers to-day were solely of the runholding class, and it remains as a result of the sale that only in one case has what might be termed a small settler secured a run. Indeed, so far as could be ascertained the bidding was mainly confined to the runholding class. The total result of the sale is that the price realised is £GS,SS4, the present rentals being £24,659, the upset £37,216. Three runs out of 170 are unsold.
