ST. MATTHIAS' CHURCH, PANMURE.

* The annual church meeting was held in the school-room on the 25th January,—the Rev. F. Gould chairman. Expenditure : Rev. F. Gould's stipend, £100; additional stipend (for 1SS0), £10 ; principal paid oft' native pastorate loan, £20 ; interest on native pastorate loan, £2 2e ; interest on Bishop's loan, £4 4s; special offertories, Melanesian Mission, £1 0s Sd ; special offertories, Home Mission £2 Is 7d ; special ofiertories, clerical pension fund, £1 2s Gd; church expenses, £12 6s 4d; balance in hand, £Y] 17s ; total, £170 14s Id. Tho churchwardeus' report stated : We commenced the year with balance iu hand of £30 10s Ud, from which sum we paid £10, as roted at the Vestry meeting last January, to the Rev. F. Gould's stipend for ISSO, thus bringing it up to £100 per annum. We have this year paid £100 for the same purpose, and hope to be able to keep the stipeed always up .to this sum. The Rev. F. Gould then stated that the services have been continued through the year with the usual regularity, and the minister has been able to give more of his time to the work of the Church in the district since lie has been relieved from visiting Kaipara. Once a quarter he spends a Sunday at the island of Wiaheke, and he has service also at Ellerslie once a mouth, but the latter does not interfere with his taking the usual Panmure service. Mr. Ireland was then re-elected minister's churchwarden, and the following gentlemen were elected vestrymen: Messrs. Thompson, Hamlin, Kingsley, Flemming, Clmrch, Searchtield, Brown, Making, W. Kay, and AVixon. Messrs. Hamlin and Banks were chosen auditors. The meoting concluded with a vote of thanks to all church officers, the choir, Sunday-school teachers, students from St. John's College, and the chairman.
