THE OTAGO RUNS.—MEETING OF OTAGO MEMBERS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DasEDiN, Tuesday. At the meeting convened by Mr. Pyke, to-day, on the land question, fourteen M.H.R.'s attended. Mr. Fish (Dunedin) aud Mr. Green (Waikouaiti) would not sign the resolutions arrived at. The others were unanimous. The resolutions were as follow : —" That in view of the magnitude of the interests involved, it is the opinion of this meeting that it is highly desirable that all action in relation to dealing with the pastoral leases which terminated in March, ISS3, should be suspended until the nowly-elected Parliament hare had an opportunity of considering the best mode of disposing of the laud affected and " That, to prevent any injury accruing to the present lessees bjyroason of such suspicion, they should be offered a renewal of their leases for a further period of one year on existing terms, subject to the condition that any land required for sale or settlement, as deferred-payment agricultural lease, or deferred-payment pastoral blocks, may be taken for such purposes after March, 18S3, without compensation."
