ANOTHER AMERICAN VICTORY.
By spccial cablegram, dated October 25, news has come that Mr. Kecno has repeated his great victory in pulling oil' the Grand Prix at Paris, by winning tho great Cambridgeshire Stakes, a race which is considered at home a truer criterion of a horse's speed than probably any other event oil the calendar. The telegraph record is as follows :— The Cambridgeshire Stakes of 2usovs. each, 10 ft, or 5 if declared by September 5, with 30050v3. added. One mile 240 yards. 162 subs. Mr. J. It. Keene's b c Foxhall, King Alfonso—Jamaica, 3yrs., Ost. (includ-1-tlbs. penalty) ... 1 Mr. C. Perkins's b f Lucy Glitters, by Speculum—Bicycle, 3yrs., Gst. 71bs. ... 2 Mr. Lefevre's ch c Tristan, by HermitThrift, 2yrs., 7st. 9ibs. ... ... ... 3 From this it will be seen that the placed horse", are all three-year-olds, although the race is open to all a:;es ; but the most noteworthy feature is the fact of Foxhall giving 2ist. to Lucy Glitters, who ran second to him—although she was second to the famed Thebais in the Epsom Oaks—and Ist. Glbs.to Tristan, the highly thought-of French colt, who rail second to him (at equal weights, of course) in the Grand Prix. If this be not showing "grand form" on the part of our " American cousins," we should like to know what else can be required after their other transcendant victories at Epson;, Goodwood, and Doncaster ? Will our Australian breeders ever rival tliese turf deeds? —Melbourne Sportsman,
