The following temporary judicial appoint, ments, or rather rearrangements have been decided on : —Mr. Hardcastle, of W.inganui succeeds Mr. Shaw (who resigns) as Welling, ton District Judge and Resident Magistrate Mr. R. Ward, of Marton, succeeding Mr.' Hardcastle at Wanganui. Mr. Beswick takes Ashburton as well as Lyttelton, and Mr Robinson takes Oamaru as well as Naseby' the two ilatter being I'icr Mr. Wood (trans! ferred) and Mr. Watt (retired on a pension),
