New Zealand Herald Office. Thursday evening. The Customs duties to-day amounted to £1321 7eßd. Kauri Gum: Ordinary rose as high as £40, but a moderate reaction seems to have set id, an.l very fair quality has been sold at £37 to £'JS within the past two days. Butter and : Butter and egge are unchanged in price. The former is still very plentiful; the latter about equ.\l to requirements. Messrs. E. and A. Isaacs' trade sale of men's) and boys' clothing was numerously attended, but although the bidding was frequently brisk, the priees could scarcely bo regarded as satisfactory. Tho English clothing brought about invoice price, but the Melbourne gooods in some instances went from 25 to 40 per cent, below consignor's valuation. The sale realised £2GOO. At Mr. G. Lewis' sale, on Weduesday, of jewellery, watches, &c, there was a fair attendance, but the bidding generally was without animation. Only a portion of the gaods was quitted.
