LONSOJJ. Our latest advices are to the 11th August. From the 2xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's circular of that date we take the following: — Stock Markets.—The fact that many large operators are ont of town has had a material effect in curtailing the amount of business passing. in these markets during the past four weeks. Prices have, however, until recently been fairly well sustained, but the advance in the value of money, which commenced about a week ago, has had a depressing influence upon those stocks * mainly dependent upon London for support. The colonial market has been steady until within the last few days, when prices have appreciably given way. New Zealknd.O per cents are unchanged, and the quotation for the 5 per cents 1914 is the same as on the 14th ultimo, notwithstanding the payment of the half-year's interest on the following day. The 5 per cents 1559 are £ better, but the remaining issues, including the 4 per cent- inscribed stock are about J lower on the month. COLONIAL OOTBRNMBifT SECURITIES. . .
