Coroitandel, Thursday. _ Colonial. — A largo quantity of splendid specimens have been taken oat of this mine during the last few days. 901bs. of very rich stuff was lodged in the bank yesterday. Very considerable stir was caused in the sharemarket. The more this reef is worked upon the more valuable it appears to become. A drive has been opened lower down the hill than the first one, and very rich stone got out, about 18 feet above the Thrush boundary. This, of course, affects that mine very much, as there, is every probability it is equally rich.

Hope.—Driving on the reef is continued in this claim, and first-class crushing stuff is brought to grass, but they cannot boast of such rich specimens as their neighbours ait present. Comstock.—This company are accumulating a large paddock of quartz and good specimens, and picked stones are saved every breaking-down. They are about to open up the low level by driving both ways on the leader, which will give sufficient ground to work out for many months. The JSayfield and Blue. Peter have amalgamated and formed a company. This mine ha 3 excellent prospects. They have just opened up a block on the same leader which gave a return of 4ozs. per ton at the last crushing, and the present block is expected to be equally good. Blackmork s.—Excellent crushing stud is coining to hand from the fiat reef ill the low level. Good specimens and picked stone are taken out every breaking down. Gold is also got in considerable quantity on the surface, both in the big reef and the flat one. As these reefs are worked upon they seem to get richer; at any rate, the golden part is extending. Home Role.—Some very good specimens havo lately como to band from this mine, and a large paddock of first-class crushing stuff is accumulating from the stopes. Perseverance.—Good neadway is being made with the rise, and very fair crushing dirt is coming to hand. Kuranui.—-Le Manquais and party, who are tributing in this mine, have crushed 18 tons of general stuff for the return of 20ozs. of melted gold. Truscott and party, who are also tributing in this mine, have crushed 7 tons of quartz for the good return of 24ozs. 16dwts. of melted gold. Don Pedro.—Kneeboue and party, who are tributing in this mine, have crashed 12 loads of general stuff for the return of lOozs. 15 dwts. of melted gold. Cokomandel, Tb' ""day evening. - Reserve.—The manage* reports getting a strong show of coarse gold from the leader eight inches thick. He is going through ■ splendid country.

Home Rule took out a pircel. of good specimens from the stopes. Blackmore's are getting first-class crushing dirt from all parts of the mine.

Colonial are driving on the leader from tho boundary, and cxpect to go 20feet to get under the shot of gold. Hope are pushing tho drive on the leader. Good crushing stuff is coming to hand. Tokatea. — Boswcll'B tribute lodged a magnificent return of 1450z5., from 1J tons of quartz and 391b3. of specimers. The leader is very small, but exceedingly rich. There is no change in the low level. Premier. — Anderson's tribute lodged 18ozs. from 13 tons.
