A special meeting of the Loyal- Star of Auckland, No. 29,1.0.0. F., is advertised to bo held tliis evening, at hiilf-past 7 o'clock, to take Into consideration th« celebration of the anniversary. A call of 2d has been made in the Maori "Win Gold-mining Company, payable at the manager's office, Coromandel, on or before the 10th August. This evening the third of the winter evening entertainments being held under the auspices of St. Matthew's Church takes place in St James' Hall. The entertainment will consist of Shakesperian music, readings, and tableaux vivants. Scenes will be selected from "Macbeth," "King Lear," and " A Midsummer Night's Dream." Among the readings will be one given by Dr. J. Murray Mooro and one by Dr. Hooper, The programme gives promise of a firstclass entertainment.
